Shipdham is one of the highest villages within Norfolk, it is also one of the longest.
The village is twinned with Noyant-la-Gravoyere, France
The History
Did you know that Shipdham had 27 public houses? Since the 16th Century villagers of Shipdham get together on the village green for its annual Drynkkings festival.
Constructed in 1941-1942 Shipdham airfield was the first US heavy bomber base in Norfolk. The Shipdham was also the continuous host to B-24 Liberators longer than any other Eighth Air Force combat airfield in Britain.
Parish council meetings
Held at the WI Hall, usually on the 2nd Monday of each month. The first 15 minutes are for you questions.

A Local Developer has submitted to the parish council a proposal for developments within Shipdham.
The two sites in question are located just off Pound Green Lane and Parklands Avenue.
Parklands Avenue proposal
The proposal is to build 15 houses / bungalows of which 6 will be affordable.
