Appointment of Deputy Clerk (new post) commencing minimum 10 hours per month.
Pay range in accordance with NALC National Salary Award

Shipdham Parish Council are looking to appoint a Deputy Clerk to support the Parish Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer and the Council’s operations.  The Council is looking for someone with good communication, organisational and administration skills along with the ability to multitask and prioritise.  A confident and mature manner is essential together with the ability to work on one’s own initiative and to be flexible to Council needs.

Main responsibilities will involve looking after the Council’s assets and to deputise for the Parish Clerk during periods of absence or busy periods.  The Deputy Clerk will work closely with the Parish Clerk to provide advice and implement actions across the complete range of council activities. The ability to work with councillors, members of the public, businesses and other agencies is essential.  The Deputy Clerk will carry out other responsibilities and roles from time to time as shall be required by the Parish Clerk and Council.  Full and ongoing training will be provided.

The post holder is required to work from home and visit the village regularly. Duties may also include attending evening meetings.  A laptop and all office equipment to do the job will be supplied.
