The Royal British Legion

Shipdham Branch of The Royal British Legion has been in existence for many years, and is one of the foremost active societies in the village.

The Royal British Legion is the nation’s main charity that has supported all serving and ex-service personnel and their dependents since its formation in 1921.

Shipdham RBL has some 30 members and meets at The Golden Dog public house every 3rd Monday of each month (except August), at 8pm.

Membership is not limited to service or ex-service persons, and many of our members have never served in the military.  All persons are welcome at our meetings, they tend to be lively discussions and all suggestions are debated before democratic decisions are taken.

Shipdham RBL perform many welfare functions every year, including the Poppy Appeal in October/November. Our dedicated Welfare Officers can always help those in need through their detailed knowledge of the state and local welfare organisations.

Events are organised during the year to raise funds for various organisations or celebrations.
